Christmas For Kids delivers seasonal silliness for children’s hospices and SEND schools across the UK.

Our audiences are unique in their range of disabilities and needs. Since they are unable to attend the theatre at this special time of year, we bring the experience to them and to their families, teachers and carers.

Since 2009, we have performed for more than 33,500 beneficiaries. Our additional digital delivery has increased our outreach and provided more flexible viewing.

This project relies on grants and donations to provide our shows for free.

Please support us if you can.

Christmas for Kids 2024

Our In-Person Christmas for Kids tour for 2023 was 'Chrimblesense', an accessible, immersive sensory exploration of Christmas (Crimble) as our festive characters Frosty, Joy and Glow, explored their favourite elements of the festive season. The show was so well received that it will be back out on the road and touring further afield in 2024!

'Chrimblesense' features C4K's trademark blend of sensory play, storytelling, music and song, playing to a mix of children's hospices and SEND schools.

All of our Christmas for Kids performances are delivered entirely for free!

We will also be producing a new DIGITAL SHOW, 'Phoebe's Festive Favourites', where audiences can explore the festive season with their favourite puppet characters through music, song and sensory interaction.

C4K 2023 - Digital and In-Person shows!

Christmas for Kids were delighted to offer both Digital and In-person Christmas shows for 2023...

Starting in December 2023, our brand new live show, 'Chrimblesense', hit the road, bringing our special blend of interaction, fun and silliness directly into children's hospices and SEND schools across the South East.

And for those that we couldn't visit in person, we had a new digital show: 'Phoebe's Green Christmas'.

'Phoebe's Green Christmas' - Digital Show

'Phoebe's Green Christmas' told the story of Phoebe the puppet as she thinks about her footprint - and not just the one she leaves in the snow! Inspired to do her bit for the planet, she reduces, reuses and recycles in as many magically inventive ways as possible. From making special gifts, to putting a new spin on classic traditions, join Phoebe as she tries to give her friends the best (and kindest) Christmas ever!

This digital show was available for FREE from 20th November & throughout the festive period, and featured accompanying resources to help carers, teachers and parents facilitate the show and its interactive sensory moments.

Sensory elements of the show were guided by a Resource E-Pack made in collaboration with leading industry professionals to aid with sensory facilitation and provide craft, speech & language and play ideas throughout the festive period.

This exciting digital show was provided free of charge and offered directly to children's hospices, SEND schools and related community groups across the UK, and reached an audience of over 10,000 beneficiaries.

"All of the children with ASD and other learning difficulties in my class were engaged throughout the show because of all of the sensory props and the quick  change from one item to the next helped keep them focused… The support packs were brilliant too."

Teacher, School with SEN provision in North West, of our 2023 show

"It enabled them to experience and interact with the theme of Christmas in a sensory based way. It gave them enjoyment and stimulation."

"Every year we are blown away when we receive this opportunity, as we all look forward to this event. The performers are just amazing with how they deliver the show, and all the extra props that are provided to enable the children to be involved with the performance. It makes a huge difference to the children and families that they are able to come to a familiar environment to have a one on one show, and this has been expressed by parents. So, a HUGE thank you to you for doing what you do for us at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, and keep doing the great work you do.”

- Senior Care Leader, Shooting Star Christopher's
